ASUS announces the world’s first All- in-One (AIO) Hybrid PC - the ASUS Transformer AIO. It combines the power of a desktop and the mobility of a tablet, giving it the ability to switch between Android and Windows 8 (Win8) operating systems (OS). Changing between Win8 and Android is achieved via a button at the side of the tablet.

As an AIO, this device is able to handle a wide range of Win8 offerings, including work. The PC Station, which is the dock for the display, is powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core desktop processor. It has an array of ports including USB 3.0. Additionally, the station also houses the Windows 8 OS and up to 2TB SATA Hard Drive.
The tablet itself is 18.4in and has a 1080p full HD resolution, featuring a 10-point multi-touch. Having IPS technology and a NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, the screen uses these features to power the Android OS within. Delving further,
the large tablet also has a 32GB eMMc Flash and 2GB of RAM. As a standalone tablet, it has a battery life of up to five hours. The screen also has a carrying handle and a folding stand for tabletop use. Based on the specs, it seems impossible to run Windows 8 when in tablet mode as it needs to support two OS at the same time. This is where ASUS reveals that the tablet will ‘stream Windows 8 from the PC Station’. However, take note that via tablet mode, the files on both OS won’t sync. If you have a file on the Android OS, you have to switch to it in order to access those files. For all the files to sync, users will have to dock it on the station
