Looking seemingly unsuspicious, Acer Liquid C1 may look like any other Android phone. Turn the C1 around and you’ll quickly find the world ‘Intel Inside’. Wait, isn’t that marking only available on notebooks? Apparently not. It is already a known fact there is a number of such phones outside Malaysia. However, Acer’s latest smartphone will be the first Intel smartphone in our country. Let’s take it for a spin!
FEEL IT
From the looks of it, Acer is not yet ready to jump into the premium smartphone market, even with Intel Atom processor. Despite that, the C1’s built is solid and robust. While it is not the thinnest or lightest phone around, I like the whole textured rubberised design at the back. It feels different and distinguishable when compared to the likes of Samsung or HTC.ONE-HANDED
With its screen at 4.3in in size, I can finally remember how it feels like to navigate a ph with one hand. The recent growth of 5in an above smartphones are a horrible reminder people with small hands will suffer. Putting the rants aside, I really like the display. For range smartphone, the C1 offers good colou great viewing angles. The only downside h the screen being a bit reflective.IT’S INTEL
Whereas mobile processor technology had experienced great leaps, Intel’s processors is not yet on par with the rest. This doesn’t mean the phone is horrible. The Intel Atom Z2420 1.2 GHz single-core processor within is a great reminder that optimisation also plays a big part in a phone. From opening apps to running it, lag is minimal. There is still some present but not enough to bother me.DARK CORNERS
The beauty of C1 is the phone comes in vanilla Android ICS (why no JB?). No skins, no bloatware, and no nonsense! This is also the contributing factor to the smartphone’s fluidity. Moving on to the C1’s camera, 8MP sounds amazing. I have seen how other manufacturers’ smartphone rivals a point-and-shoot camera. Sadly, the same cannot be said about Acer’s smartphone as the camera is mediocre. Even in brightly lit areas, the pictures look dull and boring with pixels everywhere.ACER LIQUID C1 Dimensions (HxWxD) 127.3 x 65.5 x 10 mm
